Ask a simple question

I’ve been using LinkedIn for the past couple of years now, and although I have made contact with several people who could potentially help me further my career, I have yet to ask a simple question. Today that all changed when I wrote a brief, and to the point message to a Senior Recruiter for Savannah College of Art and Design, also known as SCAD. In a matter of 3 sentences, I asked, in no uncertain terms, what it would take to get my foot in the door in a teaching position.

Send.

Yes, I am still waiting for a response, but the simple act of asking a simple question was strangely empowering. After all, why beat around the bush.
